Archives For Dubstep

Street Art

Dirty dubstep track for the weekend, brought to you today by Helicopter Showdown (with Calvertron), a remix of the fairly popular track ‘Sunlight’. This is one of the more creative remixes that I’ve heard of this song, although it keeps the dubstep flavor intact, with a great bass and creative use of “wobbles” (man I hate that term) helps to create an overall upbeat and quality track. Also up for free, so enjoy it!

Big mix by Cryptex, in order to promote his new release ‘Isolated Incidents’ on a brand new label. Great promotion mix, featuring some remixes, some original works, and a whole lot of glitch. I first heard of Cryptex from his ‘Drive It Like You Stole It’ remix and I’ve been a fan since, so make sure you check out this mix and get the new album if you’re digging it!

Considering this is following up Kraddy’s crazy ‘Anthems Of The Hero’ release, we’re keeping it pretty grimey this week. Up today is a dubstep remix by Candyland, it actually was dropped a little while ago but I didn’t have the chance to post it up. It’s got a pretty wicked sound that will appeal to some of you, so check it out and enjoy the free download provided by Candyland!

Fresh from his showing in Bonnaroo, this is a studio version of a tracked that PL released as an amazing video on his YouTube channel. Following his unexpected mash-up featuring Radiohead/Nirvana/NIN, this aggressive track comes as another showcase of a new style for Pretty Lights, one that combines the fast paced vibe known for pleasing concert crowds, with enough thought put into the melody that you know it’s another future smash from this talented producer.

Wow, just an absolute monster track from Kraddy’s upcomoing album ‘Anthems For The Hero’, get excited. Some cool news on the subject, Kraddy’s management teams suggested they send over a full copy for me to review before it’s release, which is October 10, so definitely look for that! The review will be sent out early via our electronic music newsletter. Otherwise enjoy this second free download from the album, I hate the word “epic” but it does well to describe this track.

Awesome track from Ooah made available for free on The Glitch Mob’s SoundCloud page (SoundCloud is down at the moment though), features a great sounding sample and a interesting feel for an Ooah track. Known for his versatile production skills, he makes a solid addition to The Glitch Mob crew, and as shown here, easily shines on his solo productions.

Like it or not, this is some really clever promotion. Targeting “gamers” is probably one of the smartest moves Skrillex can make, and on the flipside, promoting a new game with a popular artist doing the main theme is good for the game’s promotion as well. And so “Syndicate” was born, a new track by Skrillex, and a new game by Electronic Arts. Fortunately for music fans… it’s actually pretty good! Marketing techniques aside, I enjoyed this track, and better yet, it’s up for free via the Facebook page (I got the direct download for you).

This mix actually came out a while ago, possibly late 2010? Either way, it’s definitely a killer mixtape and needs to see the light of day, big thanks to PANTyRAID for giving it away for free. A mix of hip-hop remixes and dubstep, definitely a party track, which is a majority of what  PANTyRAID produces, consider it the less serious side of The Glitch Mob’s member Ooah, who has teamed up with MartyParty.

New mixtape by Bassnectar, I’ll be honest (as usual, ha) and say I didn’t really like the beginning, but as the mix progressed I started enjoying it more and more, and as such it is now making an appearance on the blog, with a direct DL (instead of having to enter your email) link, enjoy!

Quite the unusual name, quite an usual song. I didn’t really know what to classify this as, but it is definitely a very memorable and unique track, and in all honesty, one of the few tracks where I enjoyed the build-up more than the actual drop. I’ve posted about Vexare before, and this just shows that this young artist (and this very German sounding Katzenwaffe, ha, I have no idea) are bringing a lot of new talent to the scene. Enjoy!
