Really ambitious project by Sango, and I think it’s going to turn out really well, because The Weeknd obviously has the spotlight on him right now, and Sango did a great job remixing this whole album, putting a lot of his sound while keeping an aspect of the original intact. Up for download, so decide for yourself (I personally dig it).

Some of you really enjoyed the trance + crunk mix known as Drankenstein 2 released by Peterson earlier this year. Well today he released an extended edition called Drankenstein Live! which features a few of the original tracks plus some brand new mashups. Definitely some party music, not for all, but up for free if you dig it.

Here I am just posting about Shlohmo for the first time, and I have to do another post in the same night. This is just too damn sexy not to up. Slowed Weeknd vocals fit perfectly with the new sound, and the download is up for free, so love it or hate it, but show some love if you’re feeling it.

A great track by Gramatik made into a great remix by F.A.Q (otherwise known as the “guy who plays guitar on stage with Gramatik”, heh). Soulful as always, and up for free, so download and show Gramatik & F.A.Q some love for this track.

Drake

Now, I’m not the biggest Drake fan there ever was, but I always loved this track, and I think Goble did some great piano and synth work with this remix, and it really fits well with the hook, which is too damn catchy. Also up for free, so enjoy.

I believe this is a “remastering” of a track by Gramatik originally called ‘In My Hood’, but regardless, as you should expect after checking out Gramatik’s Beatz & Pieces Vol. 1 (you have, haven’t you?), it’s straight heat, a truly excellent track that combines a soul feel you just can’t quite get elsewhere. Gramatik, you are that dude!

Led Zeppelin

One of the few remixes to do this track justice, which is saying something. Gramatik always pushes the envelope on originality, and he always picks interesting tracks to tackle in his remixes and mashups. Every since I listened to his “Everything” remix with Murs and James Blunt, I’ve been keeping my eye out for other remixes, so turn this one up and enjoy.

Graffiti Hearts

Well, I definitely dropped the ball on this one…

I came up with the idea of a “Follow Friday” to post a bunch of great submissions, the first one went off well, and then…

I forgot to post it for two straight weeks.

Goddamn slacking.

Time to make right on the original promise, so here’s an early version of Follow Friday.

I love posting these because I get to showcase indie and really experimental tracks, these types of posts will definitely contain a lot of undiscovered goodness and the submissions I’ve been digging lately, so enjoy and please support these independent artists with a ‘like’ or tweet of this post!

1.) “Addiction (Remix)” by Scott Kane | Download

2.) “The Less I Know” by XYZR KX | Download

3.) “Something Out Of Nothing” by Break Nasty | Download

4.) “Metamorphosis” by Agent Whiskers | Download

5.) “Fires” by Box Of Luca

6.) “Technologic (Remix)” by Go Go Bizkitt | Download

7.) “Summer In The Fall” by Stef Is Dope | Download

Love all of these tracks!

Big ups to the final track, perfectly timed and seriously one of the sickest independent hip-hop tracks I’ve heard in quite a while.

If you enjoyed any of these, please support the independent artists featured here by sharing this post! Thanks for listening!

Some really soulful stuff by Afta-1 off of his album “Aftathoughts Vol. 1”, which in all is a quality album from first track to last. Grainy sound combined with the drums and mellow vibe of the song makes it a head nodding track that is hard to get away from: I’ve had it stuck in my head for a few days and you probably will too. Enjoy!

The RE:GENERATION series is a set of tracks from an upcoming documentary that follows electronic artists as they produce tracks in a distinct classic style.

From the project itself:

Presented by Hyundai Veloster, RE:GENERATION is a documentary film that follows DJ Premier, Pretty Lights, The Crystal Method, Mark Ronson, and Skrillex as they remix, recreate and re-imagine five traditional styles of music. Learn more at youtube.com/veloster and regenerationmusicproject.com.

Sounds like some interesting stuff, the videos for each song are below.

Somebody (not me) has uploaded the tracks on SoundCloud and a variety of places, but I have no idea where one would go to get the tracks normally.

You can also listen to them below.

1.) DJ Premier feat. Nas – “Regeneration”

2.) Pretty Lights – “Wayfaring Stranger”

3.) Skrillex – “Breakn’ A Sweat”

4.) Mark Ronson – “A La Modeliste”

5.) The Crystal Method – “I’m Not Leaving”
